Acceptable usage policy / Fair usage Policy

  • This Uncapped Wireless service has been developed mainly for users who require the assurance of an uninterrupted and fixed cost service. The uncapped wireless service is a managed service, whereby the customers’ usage is monitored and recorded.
  • The service is allocated a certain threshold for the month. Once this threshold is reached, your speed will be throttled to and you will not be disconnected or charged extra for that month. Hence, the term uncapped is applied to these services, since you can enjoy an unlimited amount of bandwidth for the month and not be disconnected.
  • Bandwidth throttling is the intentional slowing of Internet service by an Internet Service Provider. Throttling applies on an individual user basis, based on usage over a 30 day rolling window threshold. Throttling applies only when demand on the network exceeds available network capacity, and is relieved when demand decreases.
  • Traffic shaping is a network traffic management technique, which delays some or all datagrams to bring them into compliance with a desired traffic profile. Traffic shaping is used to optimize or guarantee performance, improve latency, and/or increase usable bandwidth. Shaping applies to all users in general where real time, interactive services (Like VOIP) are given higher priority over non-real time, non-interactive services.

Monthly Thresholds

  • Uncapped Economic packages have a threshold after which speeds could be subject throttling of up to 75%. Packages are subject to throttling only when a user has reached their monthly threshold.
